Brand new student accommodation development opening September 2019 – bookings for 2019/20 opening soon.

In the heart of East London, this is the first student residence to be collaboratively designed by and for the students who call it home. Working with neuroscientists, psychologists, design experts and student focus groups, we’re embarking on an open-ended experiment in human-centred living spaces, focused on wellbeing. Our aim is simple but ambitious – to find a better way to live for all.

More than merely a place to sleep, The Project is a versatile, interactive and community-focused beginning for the journey that will define you for life. Unlike other take-it-or-leave-it student residences, The Project is designed to be a continual work-in-progress, monitored, refined and improved via monthly student forums. Our findings and insights will be regularly shared in the Life section of our website, allowing everyone to see how the experiment is going. Living at The Project at Hoxton, you are not merely a resident of the building, but an active participant in its evolution.

Through an endlessly adaptable physical environment, events and activities created by and for residents, and a diverse but connected community, we aim to bring a more meaningful and transformational dimension to your student life in London.

Make

From dinner parties to craft events, Make is an outlet for creative explorations. A generous and well-equipped kitchen gives students a place to share their cuisine and culture in an environment engineered to enhance social exchange. With two communal tables, Make is an adaptable venue for group dining, learning new extra-curricular skills, or simply unwinding with friends.

Play

Centre-stage in Play is the Vinyl Bothy, a custom made wire-framed ‘shed’ housing an exhaustive collection of hand-picked records. These are fuel for the integrated DJ booth, which sets the tempo for Project parties and celebrations. Moveable screens open the space up to neighbouring Nook, allowing for large-scale events and talks, and close it off for more intimate affairs. Time for a tournament? Table football, pool, table tennis and a stash of board games are all free to play, day or night.

Relax

Sometimes we need to step away from the clamour of the world, embrace nature and live in the moment. With no WiFi to puncture the peacefulness, mirrors to open up the space and welcome in the greenery from the garden outside, Relax is an escape route from the temptations of technology and the pressures of student life.

Move

Healthy minds and healthy bodies go hand in hand, so The Project makes sure students have access to a fully equipped gym, kitted with high-tech exercise machines and free weights. A specially curated soundtrack and mirror-view motivational messages on the ceiling keep your workout on track.

Nature

Full of re-energising green trees and plants, the courtyard garden on the ground floor is a scenic environment for communal picnics, outdoor events or simple solo contemplation – as well as offering up a beautiful and serene view to the Studios and Apartments above. A series of planters provide opportunities for green-fingered residents to grow their own vegetables and flowers.

Wellbeing and mental health

To make the transition into independent living as smooth and rewarding as possible, we provide comprehensive guidance on finding and registering with appropriate health services, encourage proven wellbeing-enhancers such as sleep, exercise, balanced nutrition and social activity, and we ensure that anyone who needs further or professional support has access to the help that they need.

Safety and security

Our residents’ welfare is paramount, so we ensure residents benefit from round-the-clock security and support. The Project at Hoxton has a dedicated Management Office open Monday to Friday, and 24-hour on-site staff presence, seven days a week, all year round.

Access to The Project at Hoxton is protected by high-tech entry and intercom systems, and communal areas are fitted with CCTV cameras for added security. Our students can relax safe in the knowledge they’re not only living in the most-forward thinking student residence in the city, but that they are also in one of its most secure and protected environments.

Project App

With The Project smartphone app, you can create and respond to events, book rooms, make maintenance reports, receive post notifications and more – all at the tap of a button.

A dedicated full-time team member is your first point of contact for all aspects of Project life, arranging a packed calendar of events and fostering involvement with the building and the community.

Project spaces

With mobile furniture, multifunctional lighting and creative soundscapes that evolve throughout the day, communal spaces are designed to be readily adaptable to whatever you need from them.
