City Guide

Introduction to Bradford

Bradford is located in West Yorkshire in the north of England. The city is home to the University of Bradford, and Leeds Bradford International Airport is just six miles away. Bradford is a multicultural city with a population made up from a wide range of ethnic groups.

Bradford's history lies in the textile industry and there are still some fine buildings that stand today which highlight its importance in this area, such as the Wool Exchange – a beautiful grade I listed building which was built in the 1800s, which today is home to a shopping centre!

Bradford is also a city well known for its delicious curries and in 2013 was crowned Curry Capital of Britain.
